I picked The Curse of the Ferrydog for quite a few reasons.
Dylan did deserve SOME sort of punishment for grave robbing, but he didn't deserve to be turned into a literal zombie, especially not by my least favorite character on the show. I know Dante breaks him out of it, but the episode didn't have to go that far with torturing him, especially since it makes Portia look like a sadist, and it only makes me hate Dante even more.
The episode made me hate Portia, and I think it's fairly obvious why. It's fitting to see her as the main antagonist and not Dante, because Dante's pathetic, but she's not menacing or manipulative here. She's just a sadist who wants Dylan to be tortured. As much as I hate Dante, at least he saw that what he did was wrong, even though that didn't make up for literally breaking Dylan.
As if I couldn't hate Dante enough, this episode has him literally break Dylan into a zombie-like state that again, never had to be there. Dolly and Dawkins reacted very appropriately, and they were actually PATIENT compared to how I would've reacted myself. I'm glad Dante's showing more emotions than 'end of the world', but that doesn't excuse what he does in this episode. i like that he breaks Dylan out of his trance, but it was with a mediocre pop song, so it doesn't impact me as much as it should.
Honestly, if the episode had just ditched the Dylan turning into a zombie thing then everything would've been fine, as I could see him doing this even if he WASN'T zombified in the brain. But NOPE! The writers said, gotta torture Dlyan somehow tonight! So that's what they did!
Ferrydog, due to Dylan being dumb minded by Portia to think that her world is a real underworld. Plus, THE FREAKING SONG!!!
I won't be surprised if there was an episode that is worse then this.
Honestly, Dylan's main issue in the episode is that his paranoia went way too far. He's uptight enough to justify having him in his normal state when doing this, so why did they think zombifying him was a good idea?
So...my answer is actually none of them. HOWEVER...there are a few stinkers, and I'm going to address my big one.
Fear Window. God I absolutely despise this one.
It doesn't feel like a 101 Dalmatian Street episode at all. Dolly is way too annoying here, even if she's my favorite character.
Half of the plot makes no sense. Why bury the shirt just because he got implants? What's with the cone besides it setting up the plot device? See it's weird.
I get with some of it they were trying to do a reference to the movie Rear Window, but it doesn't make sense and it doesn't fit well into any part of the show.
I guess if I had to choose one, it would be FitDH. Just boring, none of the choices are bad IMO.
I actually love Fear Window. Dolly never crossed me as annoying, since her concerns were justified as it looked like Clarissa was covering something huge from her angle, and she did end up getting stuck in the danger, so she didn't go unpunished.
And yeah, I hate Fox in the Dog House. Fergus was so annoying by the third act.
What do you think?
