The pitch reel for 101 Dalmatian Street (originally stylized here as 101 Dalmatian St.) was produced in 2017, but was never officially released to the public eye. It features many differences from the final series, most notably the art style and Dolly being referred to as “Daisy.”

In April 2024, the full pitch pilot, as well as the storyboard pilot, were leaked on 4chan along with other pilots for animated Disney TV series.

Clips of the pilot were shown at the 2018 Annecy Animation Festival Reel and in commercials for Disney Channel.

Plot

Daisy introduces herself to the viewers and is quickly joined by Dylan. As Daisy speaks, clips of various settings and characters are shown. Daisy describes the occupations of her parents, Doug and Delilah, who are often at work while she and Dylan stay home to take care of the puppies. Back at Dalmatian Street, Clarissa and Hugo cameo before Daisy properly introduces Dylan and describes herself as "the dainty one who never gets in any trouble;" Dylan is quick to stop her. Daisy admits both she and Dylan "get into scrapes;" Dylan recalls the time Daisy had fleas, while Daisy recounts Dylan's failure at being wild with Fergus. Dylan, Daisy, and the puppies ride the London Eye, which comes loose due to the puppies' rowdiness. Dylan panics, but Daisy tells him to "just roll with it."

Differences from final series

  • The pilot has a completely different style compared to the final series, being reminiscent of the original 101 Dalmatians film and 101 Dalmatians: The Series. With this style, the designs for characters are also different.
  • Dolly is called "Daisy."
  • Some characters have different, unidentified voice actors, including Deepak and Clarissa.
  • One shot shows Dylan walking with Fergus before being startled by a spider. The shot would be reworked for the episode "Walkies on the Wild Side."

Notes

  • Throughout the series, character designs from the pilot can be glimpsed in photos on the walls of 101 Dalmatian Street.
  • Merchandise inspired by designs and scenes in the pilot have been released by Mattel.
