"Dog's Best Friend" is the first episode of 101 Dalmatian Street, especially as the official start for the show and the first season, as well as the first part of the first episode of the Disney+ release.
The episode originally aired as a sneak peek on December 14, 2018, before making its official premiere on March 18, 2019 alongside "Boom Night." In the United States, it premiered alongside "Boom Night," "Muddy Pups," "Power to the Puppies," and "Who the Dog Do You Think You Are?" on March 29, 2021.
Plot[]
The episode opens with Dylan in a video game-like fantasy, shooting pink goo being left by obscured creatures. In reality, it is just him cleaning the 101 Dalmatian Street with a vacuum cleaner as the puppies leave muddy footprints on the floor. Meanwhile, Dolly slides down the banister of the stairs, insisting that she is helping Dylan by "polishing" them. The puppies follow her as she slides again, leaving behind yet another mess for Dylan to clean up. At the front door, Delilah is leaving for work before she sees Doug getting home from his night shift at the fire station. The puppies excitedly greet him, resulting in another mess. Dylan sees Clarissa's human through a window next door, longing for his own human pet to help him with chores. Dizzy and Dee Dee overhear this, and scurry off to the "pet shop" (actually a coffee shop) to find Dylan a pet.
At the shop, Dizzy and Dee Dee settle on a human man whom they call "Mr. Fuzzy." They bring him home to Dylan, who initially panics upon seeing a human at the house. Mr. Fuzzy is then introduced to Dolly and the rest of the puppies (with Triple D briefly commenting about how he looks less than ideal to them). Dylan puts Mr. Fuzzy to work in a montage; at first, Mr. Fuzzy is clumsy when carrying out the household chores, though he eventually becomes more skilled, leaving Dylan pleased. Later, Doug sees the human and questions his presence. After Dizzy and Dee Dee tell him the human is Dylan's new pet, Doug explains to Dylan that humans are hard work; "You gotta to take 'em for a lot of walkies in the park!" Doug's utterance of a trigger word results in a stampede of puppies rushing to the park with Mr. Fuzzy.
At the park, Mr. Fuzzy sees Lucy, a woman whom he previously encountered on a dating app on his phone. After Dylan teaches Mr. Fuzzy how to play fetch, the Dalmatian puppies and their human rest in the living room of 101. When Dylan awakes, however, he sees chaos in the dining room, where his inventions are malfunctioning. Dylan and Dolly fix the issues, but Doug tells Dylan that it would be for the best for Mr. Fuzzy to be with his "own kind." Dylan, Dolly, and the pups head back to the park and set up Mr. Fuzzy with Lucy. The two look into each other's eyes romantically, and Dylan joyfully cries as he bids farewell to his human.

101 Dalmatian Street – Mr Fuzzy's not dumb censorship
- This episode's title is a pun on the phrase "man's best friend," used to describe dogs. Additionally, this episode shares the same name with episode 110B of 101 Dalmatians: The Series.
- One of the photos seen on the wall of 101 depicts Pongo and Perdita.
- Various other photos use the character designs from the pitch reel.
- Doug being covered in soot is a possible homage to the climax of the original One Hundred and One Dalmatians film, where the Dalmatians disguise themselves as labradors by covering themselves with soot.
- In Southeast Asia, Doug's line, "The poor, dumb creature," was censored, with "dumb" being muted in the English audio track.
- When this episode made its official premiere, its sister episode "Boom Night" was shown first. Later airings, premieres outside of the UK, and streaming services corrected this error.
